1)Homepage(usually index.html)
Through this page, is how the majority of visitors entries.(Remember that trough the searchers, any page could be the one a visitor use to enter.)It should contain a title and a description about the subject, or purpose of the website. It should be mention what visitors will find navigating the site and the corresponding navigation bar, also a free benefit that catches the attention of the visitor.(For example, the unloading of an ebook,a software,a manual, free access to an exclusive zone, etc.)
2)Products and services.
It’s very useful and necessary that each product and service offered has its own sales page, and contains information the most detailed as possible.
If the page were to extensive,it can be created a page with the name,a brief description and a picture of the product…and another page connected where to show the details. This method it’s convenient, cause people looking for information in internet want it NOW… and they don’t like to wait until a “heavy” page its loaded. Therefore ,if what they read in the introduction page were of their interest, they wont care to wait all the necessary time to load the secondary page. Moreover,if you had a lot of products for sale in the same site,it would be convenient to prepare a page that mention briefly all the items, with links to the descriptive pages.
3)Contact page.
Mention contact information in the more places as possible. It would be convenient make it below the pages.
Moreover, create a special web that should details as: your name and last name, company name, complete address, phone, fax, consult email, technical support email, sales email and web address. About your address, I have noted that many websites offering services or products in a local or national way, forget to mention the residence place.
I’m not going to mention nobody,to not wilt them, but I have to remind you that internet it’s a global environment, and a website could be accessed from any place of the planet,…therefore ,in those cases, its necessary to include the city, region and country. Moreover, a common oblivion, it’s the long distance code for phone numbers, it must be included the prefix or long distance code(national as well as international).
4)Prices.
It’s recommendable to mention the prices of all the prices of the products for sale.As I said before, visitors needs to have the most information as possible in front of their eyes. Not mention the price, could mean loose the deal, since its very probable that the interested person might not want to wait an answer by email even more wait until the next day to make a phone call to the salesman. In those cases that’s not possible to specify an exact price, it could be mention a range of prices. For example:”web pages design between $40_$60″.About prices,I can’t avoid mention an inconvenient that many websites shows, and I refer about the type of money of the prices.
I’ve seen pages and announcements of primary school professors offering support classes at home for several millions per hour.
Please, remember that being internet a global environment,it´s almost a rule mention the prices in US dollars;(or in the opposite, include the type of money, the city and country we are talking about).
5)Testimonies(Before and After).
Include real testimonies of anterior clients, that will show to potential customers that you are a believable and sincere person, and that your products and services are reliable.
For the testimony accomplish it purpose,it it should be included(at least)the name and email of who wrote it.If you don´t have testimonies…just ask them from your clients, sending them an email asking how they ´ve been doing with the product, and once they answer, write them again asking their permission to publish their comments, names and emails.
Also, and depending on the product or service,it´s possible to include pictures of the “Before and After”,with a descriptive detail of the benefits of such product.
6)Frequents questions.
This section in websites, has become a great save of time and personnel for companies. Instead of answer once and again the same questions every day, you can create a questionnaire(with answers for this frequents questions)in a special page inside your site. The more information you show in your website, the less questions you’ll have by email or phone.
Remember also, that the lack of information could be an obstacle to make a deal.
7)Subscription forms and consults.
Remember a basic principle,” a mail list it’s the most valuable treasure of all the business”.
So, to obtain the contact information of the navigators it’s indispensable.
To do it, nothing better than place a subscription form in all the pages of the site.(Except in sales charts).
The subscription could be for example, an electronic news bulletin. In the pages with sale charts, there must be just one form or email in order that interested people realize their consult. A counsel, ask only necessary data, sometimes it’s enough just the name and email.
It won’t be adequate to ask the home address or phone number just to subscribe a bulletin.
8)Magazines and electronic bulletins(ezines or newsletters)
This is an incomparable marketing tool!!
It not only allow you to keep the contact with your clients and potential customers, but also provides to your site new contents. There are 3 different ways to shape your electronic magazine:
a)subscription and email delivery.
b)publish it directly in your own website.
c)both of them.
In all publication you must include copyright information and contact information complete.
9)Resources/Articles.
Increase the value of your business. Provide complementary information about what you do or the purpose of your company.
For example: if you sell brides dresses, offer information about parties halls for rental. Adding extra information, you’ll increase the value of your site and the position of your site in the searchers.
10)Who we are.
This is a very important page to take out the doubts and objections of potential customers.
In this page you mention who you are and why the should trust on you and acquire your products or services. It could be included also, the opening and close time of your business(if you have a commercial local offline or if the client have the possibility to contact you in person).
Some companies also include their profits and goals, staff details(with pictures, charge, laboral qualification, etc).
And obviously you must include complete home address information(including city and country) and ways to contact(phone with national and international prefix) fax, email, messenger, etc.
See sample here.
11)Guaranties.
Offer always the devolution of the money, if the buyer weren’t agree with the purchased product. The more extended the guaranty is, the more possibilities you’ll have to make the deal. It’s usual to offer it for 30, 60, or 90 days…even so there are also for 1 year.
12)Enquiries.
It’s very interesting and productive to know the opinion of visitors and customers. Thorough enquiries, you can improve the product or service and adequate it to the needs of the interested people.
13)Calendar of events.
Of course, I refer to those in relation with your business or company. For example: if you are a sculptor, you can show the days in which you’ll be offering an exposition, if you are a singer, the dates of your shows, if you have a business of sales, you can offer explanatory talks about the products, give free samples, etc
14)Searcher inside the website.
Many navigators in the web, don’t know exactly what they are looking for, or some others even don’t know how to look for.
Include a searcher with options inside your site, it could guide the people to the objective.
It should allow to type a word or phrase(same way it can be done from a search motor). There are many scripts, easy to shape and edit to create a internal searcher.
15)Reimbursement policy.
In order that potential customers feel more confident and agreeable at the moment of realize the purchase, it can be included an explanation page, with the methodology of money reimbursement.
If it’s possible, depending on the product or service, it must be very clear the circumstances of it.
16)Site’s map.
A map of the site, it’s similar to a contents index.
It shows the sections in which the site it’s divided and organized, and gives direct access to them. All the folders must be included; subfolders and files, with the exception of those sections of private access or protected directories.
17)Copyright information.
Every website in each page, must show the legend”copyright”that protect the intellectual property of who wrote the contents or the proprietor company.
It’s good to know that in order that the authors rights have legal validity they must be registered at the corresponding organism. This register can be done in alocal or international Official Organism.Reference:http://www.ompi.org .
